Event Information
Abby is a 7 year old girl who was born with congenital CMV. As a result of this virus, Abby is unable to speak, has difficulty eating and is unable to sit or walk independently. Despite all of these challenges, Abby is a very happy little girl with a smile that could brighten anyone's day. The funds raised from this event will go to Abby's special needs trust, established for her long term care needs. In particular, the funds from this year's race will be put towards a wheelchair accessible van for Abby. In addition, 10% of the proceeds of the race will be donated to STOPCMV.org and cmvfoundation.org, two 501c(3) organizations whose missions are to increase public awareness of this very common virus, that few know anything about, and to raise donations to support research for a vaccine for CMV.
